Pan Fried Grass Carp Steaks

Back after six months! Not that much happened or that I went without food for that long.Just that I got bored. My relationship with food has been very intense over the years. I am an emotional eater. I eat when happy. I eat when sad. I just look for a reason to eat. My goal now is to be more mindful of my behavior.

Yesterday I made pan fried Grass Carp fish steaks. This fish has a taste similar to Rohu fish that we get in India.

Ingredients : Grass Carp Steaks or fillets coated with turmeric and salt (2 large), finely chopped green onions( half a cup),black cumin seeds(1 teaspoon),Oil for pan frying.

Process : Take a medium skillet,on medium heat add the black cumin seeds. Quickly after add the fish steaks and fry on each side till you get a golden color. Add the chopped green onions to garnish.

Cooking time : 4-5 minutes on each side.

ENJOY!!!!

The start of summer....

The thought of summer time just brings back fond memories of my childhood. A time for family vacations, food and fun.
A drink that comes to my mind perfect for summertime is Pina Colada. Its a smooth and luscious beverage. The kid friendly version of this drink is made by skipping the rum!
Bacardi Rum -1/3 cup
Coconut creme-1/3 cup
Pineapple chunks or pineapple juice- 1/3 cup
Ice chips - Lots !
Sugar or splenda- to taste
You could add condensed milk- 3 tablespoons if not worried about your waistline!

Blend all the ingredients and ta-da! :-)
Its that simple....
